The Importance Of Being You!

Take a pen and paper if you wish and just for a moment sit and pause, now recap on the last couple of days just gone.

Start by making a mental or physical list of the things you love to do, the things that make you content, the places and people whose company you enjoy most. Really think about this, memories of happy times, happy places etc.

Now as you recap on the last number of days make a physical or mental note of how many times you got to connect or feel connected to any of the above or your passions or loves of life.

Take Time To Journal – Keep It Simple / Keep It Real

At different stages in life one can find themselves detaching from things they know and feel allows them to connect better with themselves and others. Sometimes, the fear of what others might think/say, feeling out of your comfort zone, a lack of support or lack confidence in yourself and the list goes on.

We were all born different, and we are evolving mentally, physically and emotionally at our own pace. Yin and Yang is required in all areas of life to bring balance. We all have something to give and something to teach others even though we might not be fully aware of it yet. Sure, at times we can all get caught on the wheel of what life ‘should be’ and not what we want it to be, and it takes courage and space to jump off that wheel.

Some food for thought for reconnecting to You:

  • Own your personal traits, define your own personal traits in Your own terms. Intelligent, charming, gentle, creative etc. Naming it allows you to become more self- aware and remember nothing is set in stone there is always space for change if that’s what you desire.
  • Try not focus on the past, there is no room for growth or change in the past, the only place you can feel connected is in the present and this in time will lead to change in the future.
  • Make yourself a priority, you matter, you are important, make time for taking care of you. Just like a new baby is fed regularly, it has playtime, nap time, cuddle time, all important for growth and to move to the next phase of life.

As you age this is also important. Don’t give up on yourself, keep learning, be playful and creative with life and try not to take things too seriously.

  • Stop blaming time, there is a time for everything if we allow our minds to be open to possibility and opportunity. The next ‘time’ you find yourself negatively judging something, someone, or a situation, STOP and try to see that thing, person, or situation in a new way if given opportunity or possibilities.
